The Town's incorporated limits is comprised of 26 square miles.  The Town General Plan contains 31,282 acres, with 19.7 percent set aside for commercial or industrial uses. The Town of Queen Creek currently estimates that the Town's population to be approximately 20,000 based on new single family residential building permits issued as of March 2005.

The Town of Queen Creek was one of 26 communities in Maricopa County that took part in the 2005 Special Census. Based on the census responses, billions of dollars in federal and state funding will be reallocated to cities and towns. These funds are vital to the Town of Queen Creek for local needs such as improved roads, parks, recreation services, police protection and library facilities. The results of this special survey are expected to be made public sometime in June, 2006.

Schools


There are five school districts serving the Queen Creek area, in addition to a charter school and two specialized schools.

It is important to note that school district boundaries are not the same as municipal and county boundaries. Area residents with a Queen Creek address or zip code are not necessarily served by the Queen Creek Unified School District .

Prospective homeowners are encouraged to call area school districts to confirm which districts and schools serve an individual property. The Town of Queen Creek municipal government is not involved in the operation of schools.
